Baleen whales are known, because they have agreed in the mouth, where the tiny feed animals from the thousands of litres can filter out sea

water. Today, many whale species are protected and you can watch whales in many countries around the world. Whale watching (whale watching) is a good source of income, so the whales are not wiped out and can proliferate.

Where you can observe various species of whale whales around the world:

Whale watching Alaska

In the Prince William sound in the Gulf of Alaska Orcas (killer whales) are a year-round to see, who there feel contented in the sheltered bay. Already on the ferry (from Valdez to Whittier), which takes about seven hours, you can still dolphins, sea lions except for Orcas and Eagle watching. The humpback whales come to Alaska, because of the ample food supply in spring from Haweii. Resurrection Bay on the Kenai Peninsula is the best vantage point for whale-watching. The ships of the company “Kenai Wildlife Cruises” travel into the areas, where you get to see whales, sea lions, dolphins and large colonies of birds. (Whale season is in Alaska from June to September.)

Whale watching-Dominican Republic
January and mid-March warm waters pull large numbers of humpback whales from their Arctic homes between the middle of the Bay of Samana in the Dominican Republic. Where the whales breed and bring their talent to the world. The company “Transporte Maritimo Minadiel” carries out whale-watching vessels using an underwater microphone. So, well, you can hear the chants of the whale males. A different destination is Los Haitises National Park at the end of the Bay.There Tower limestone islands out of the sea. On a good day you can watch dolphins and Frigatebirds, pelicans there. (Whale Dominican Republic is from mid-January to mid-March.)

Whale watching Hawaii: If the humpbacks sick ate in the cold northern sea of Alaska, take the journey of more than 5,000 km across the Pacific in order to mate in the warm waters of Hawaii. There are the ocean giant off the South West coast of Maui, to observe the second largest island of the archipelago. (Whale season Hawaii is from December to may.)

Whale watching Azores

By the Vigia since at the village of Lajes do Pico, you can Queimada in good visibility to see whales and dolphins at a distance of up to 30 kilometers. Because of its central location in the Atlantic Ocean, a variety of whales cavort around the Azores. So, you can get pot -, blue and fin whales as well as the rare ducks and other beaked whales to face. In addition to the observation of the country, you can take a boat to the whale-watching. (Whale Azores is from May to October.)

Whale watching in Iceland

In the waters around Iceland, whale watching in many places is possible. There are particularly minke whales, dolphins, Finn -, humpback and blue whales that occur there frequently. The excursions take depending on the place of departure between three and ten hours. Also worth a visit of the Húsavík whale Center, a world-class Museum, where there are to visit interesting exhibits. (Whale island is from April to October.)

Whale watching Canary Islands

There for whale-watching to see 28 whale and dolphin species that are there at home against Tenerife and La Gomera. Among other things, pilot, grind -, pot – and beaked whales. With a boat tour on the spot, one has to observe a chance of 80 to 90% of marine mammals. It is important that is a nature guide on board, which gives the best information about whales.(Whale Canary Islands throughout the year.)

Whale watching Mexico

Every winter a large number of whales come from the icy Bering Sea to mate from Baja California in Mexico. Viewers can watch on their acrobatic air jumps to 40 ton animals. Good observation post are Bahia Magdalena, Laguna San Ignacio and Laguna Ojo de Liebre, which are controlled by small boats. (Whale season in Mexico is from January to March.)

Whale watching in Norway: Pot-, dwarf, humpback and fin whales can be observed in the midnight sun near the Whale Research Center Andenes on the northern tip of Vesterålen, about 300 kilometers north of the Arctic circle. Then the black-and-white Orcas in the Tysfjord. The station is located 60 kilometres south of the city of Narvik, where the Orcas follow the spawning herring shoals for their food needs. (Whale Norway July/August Vesterålen and for the monitoring of killer whales in Tysfjord from October until January.)
