For All Tastes

In the area of San Nicolas, we caught an interesting variety of species, on the same day and without moving too.

Arriving at the grounds of the fishing Club San Nicolas went back to check the awesome that is the Paraná River. On a day rather cloudy with winds from the East/Southeast and temperatures of around 25 degrees, it was majestic, with a height of 2.50 m, stationary, with moderate winds and a temperature of 20 degrees. There waiting for us Leandro Poggi and Gustavo Aliani. Upon entering the site caught my attention the infrastructure works being done by the fishing Club San Nicolas, with new nautical nursery, stoves and grills for the camping area. It also has boats, with pen and ramp down, and a flirty spring where members enjoy good pique of many species of the summer season.

He had travelled with Juan Pablo Funk, which came provided with equipment to make three different fishing: Dorado and surubí with bait and lure, and tarariras lure. We had two boats waiting, so quickly we are dealing with them to start the day.

We sailed 40 minutes bound for the fishing zone, taking by the Paraná River to the mouth of the Brook Lechiguanas, to leave it behind after a few minutes of navigation and turn the Barrancoso Brook to lost Creek, which was the sector chosen to make attempts. As we sailed, Gustavo us was defining each of the myriad of birds flying in our way, commenting on us that when not fishing leverages to go out and see the wonderful winged fauna of this region.

Two techniques

As we had two boats, practicaríamos two different ways to fish the same species: anchored or gareteando Brook. We use Moray as bait and employ no more rods 2,10 m graphite from a stretch of up to 20 lb. of resistance action (1 pound: 0.453 kg), where to put rotating reels guys 4,600 / 5,500 or low profile loaded with nylon 0.35 mm or 0.25 mm multifilament (to smaller diameter resists more and does not stretch better transmitting pique). We use leaders of 40/60 lbs and 45 cm long, with a sharp 8/0 hook.

Gustavo fishing in his boat with Juan Pablo and Bruno, gareteando by the brook that has some 30 m wide and 7 m in depth. In earlier days it had rained enough and the water from the fields drained over the Brook clean, giving enough transparency. With armed reeds tied you the leader. Any lead or ballast, was not used so the bait, allowing it to work free and natural, is not fondeara only moved by the currents. The encarme was alive morena presented the spine from tail to head, so that you don’t lose mobility under water.

They traversed the boat for fishing comfortable, and threw the lines upstream by loosening nylon so that they reach the bottom (take into account that the boat moves faster than the bait and moves away from them). It is ideal to catch 30/50 m from the boat. The reel is locked to reach that distance by regulating star so if you pique remove nylon. They felt how the bait moved within the bottom of the river waiting for some fish to attack them. Pique is given in two different ways: loosen the nylon or taut line. In the first case is collected quickly nylon trying to get to the fish and are low shank riveting snapping upward, keeping the tension between the tip of the fishing rod and fish. If it tightens you should unlock the reel leaving the fish to eat then, when we deem appropriate, lock the reel and canar, bringing in both cases the prey towards the boat. First hell took two surubíes and Browning, leaving the water by jumping and trying to get rid of the hook as they approached it.
